Arne Roennau is new professor at IMI
Arne Roennau holds the professorship for "Intelligent Machines" here at IMI since 01.04.2024. Previously, he was head of the department at the FZI Research Center for Information Technology, where he headed the FZI Living Lab Service Robotics.
Research at the new chair will combine aspects of computer science, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering in order to develop new types of intelligent machines. The aim is to combine theoretical, dynamics, model knowledge and individual characteristics of a machine with current AI methods in such a way that the systems become more efficient and powerful. The work concentrates on three key areas that build on each other:
- Design Concepts for Intelligent Machines
- Machine Situational- and Self-Awareness
- Actions and Autonomy for Robotics
