Establishment of a digital platform for the cost-effective, cooperative development and production of complex vehicle concepts for SMEs in the automotive industry.
Description
The mobility sector is undergoing fundamental change in economic, ecological and socio-cultural terms. This poses major challenges for manufacturers and suppliers in the automotive industry. Concept lightweight construction offers resource-saving and economically acceptable possibilities for new forms of mobility, here with so-called use case-optimised mobility. Many intelligent vehicle concepts are available as prototypes. However, their introduction fails due to the high cost of their production, which only approaches small quantities. The IntWertL project is therefore pursuing the goal of establishing a digital development and production platform for small and medium-sized companies that enables manufacturing companies and engineering service providers to offer complex products in small quantities in a cooperative approach, thereby increasing their global competitiveness. Distributed development and production dramatically lowers entry barriers in the form of pre-investments and the fundamental increase in efficiency allows development cycles to be drastically shortened, thereby reducing costs. Small companies can thus become integrators / OEMs themselves. IntWertL aims to explore the conditions for an end-to-end digitalised engineering and production platform for SMEs, which is also largely automated through the use of AI, and to create the basis for a commercially viable platform.
